Sana MEP Helps After Canning Town Flood


The Hallsville Quarter in Canning Town has been left reeling after a burst water pipe caused flooding and power outages. A spokesperson for Thames Water indicated concrete had caused a blockage in the sewer which overwhelmed the drainage system but didn’t elaborate on how the concrete got into the network.

Residents of Hallsville quarter have been told to evacuate their homes and businesses have been shut while extensive work can be conducted to restore the power supply and fix the sewage system. Sana MEP has been drafted in to provide temporary generators while repairs are undertaken.

With Sana’s energy solution, engineers can tackle the crisis and residents will be able to get back into their homes. It is expected to be a number of weeks before a full damage report is completed, and repairs are completed.

Sana MEP has committed to provide temporary energy solutions and assist further for as long as it takes to get Hallsville Quarter up and running again.

The director of Sana MEP stated, “Hallsville Quarter is an integral part of the wider Canning Town community, and the burst water pipe and subsequent power outage has caused significant disruption. At this time of year with winter and Christmas fast approaching it is imperative we get residents back in homes and businesses operational. Sana MEP will ensure this is possible in the soonest time.”

Currently many residents are staying in local hotel accommodation and a number of businesses including popular restaurants have closed their doors. Thames Water have indicated that burst pipes are a common occurrence due to blockages and advise people not to flush cooking fats, cleansing wipes or any other substance that can obstruct a sewage system.
