Sana MEP appointed enabling works for Oriel

Sana MEP has been appointed the enabling works for the construction of Oriel, the £300m eye hospital at King’s Cross in London.

Under the joint initiative between Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, and Moorfields Eye Charity, services will move to a brand-new integrated centre on the site of St Pancras Hospital. Sana MEP will be essential in ensuring this project’s successful completion and will involve installing electrical systems and infrastructure. Bouygues UK, the chosen contractor, developed an entire construction programme to be completed by 2027.

Sana MEP will ensure a safe and efficient power supply to the building, taking safety measures to prevent electrical hazards. Installation of fire safety systems such as smoke detectors, alarms, emergency lighting, and wiring for all medical equipment will be imperative. In addition, all lighting requirements will be met, including safety lighting for the medical areas. Electrical engineers will be wiring security systems and performing any necessary testing and inspections to confirm the power systems in the building are working correctly. With all electrical components in place, Sana MEP will enable Oriel Eye Hospital to deliver the highest quality treatments and therapies to the hospital’s patients.
